Iran warns of painful response if Israel attacks

(Reuters)

10 June 2008

TEHERAN - Iranian Defence Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar was quoted on Tuesday as warning Israel of a very painful response if it launched a military strike over the Islamic Republic's disputed nuclear programme.

On Friday, Israeli Transport Minister Shaul Mofaz told an Israeli newspaper an attack on Iran looked "unavoidable" given the apparent failure of U.N. sanctions to deny Teheran technology with bomb-making potential.

Asked about Mofaz's comments, Najjar was quoted by the state Iran daily newspaper as saying: "Our armed forces are at the height of their readiness and if anyone should want to undertake such a foolish job the response would be very painful."

2. I've completely turned off the "MSM" news and their
respective talking heads. Does this look imminent today?

4. Did you see the reports that gas would be $8 a gallon by Labor Day
I was in different parts of the state yesterday. At a Doctors office people were talking about the gas prices and how it was affecting them. My only comment was that maybe when it hit $8 an hour people would get off their butts and DEMAND that Congress serve the interest of the people. Several looked amazed and had no idea that was even a recourse.
Then I returned home and went to get a haircut. My stylist was telling me that she is very afraid for her livelihood because when it comes down to it, haircuts are a luxury. That will be something people give up first. She has already seen a slight decline.
I wanted to get my nails done, but her nail tech left. She said she tried to talk her best friend into going into school to get her license but her friend was afraid that she would invest money into getting certified and gas to go to school...and then end up being one of the expendable cogs in the economy with added debt.

5. The Citgo in my town waits an extra day to hike their prices.
The trick is to watch BP in town. The day they jack theirs, you have about 24 hours to fill-up at Citgo before he gets his delivery and hikes his.
