We will have war with Iran, they are making an end run
He's going to try and use Israel. Let them start the war and then activate treaties.

If it is going to happen, that is the way it will.

The Saudis will find back room deals to allow Iran to continue to get Nuclear technology, the CIA will be lax in its efforts to enforce international law against nuclear arms proliferation, the Russians will allow it knowing that that they have enough oil to outflank the US.

The US will push Israel to attack Iran, in order to secure Israel's own security interests. The MSM will be fed story after story of Iran's Goliathan military might versus Israel's David-like army (America loves an underdog). Then the president, with help from Congressional allies, weak-kneed Democrats and the Pro-Israeli caucus will start sending patriot missle battalions, The 4th fleet, and several air force wings to Israel and Iraq. Pressure will mount to strike into Iran.

If McCain is president, we will certainly have a war. Right now, Obama is being pressured by pro-Israeli (as in the hawk-wing of Israel, not all Israeli's) to take a strong Israeli stance and stand by existing treaties. He will be forced by law to defend Israel with US forces.

The Saudi's will aid and abet at every opportunity, along with BushCos allies.

1. Which oil speculator and fear monger are you working for?
This old refrain is sooo tired already. It is also a distraction from Iraq!!

3. Nice try. There is no need to insult me. I am merely looking at the world news today
Explain to me what you mean about it being a distraction from Iraq.

And please don't call me names. This is a discussion board, I am discussing.

2. It isn't going to happen
In the first place Iran is not a threat to anyone. They are not building nuclear weapons. The world is much wiser as to how the Republicans LIE. It is only a pipe dream to the GOP who think war will solve all their problems. War is not the answer and they haven't figured that simple fact out yet.

4. Okay, explain why they are still fanning the flames of war.

Explain why Israel just put out a press release threatening to attack Iran if the US won't?

edited to add link.

8. Because It's All They've Got
I think you're overanalyzing this a bit. All this group of thugs have is war and fear; fear and war. Since nothing they've touched has turned out anything but badly, they can't run on record, legacy, or success. No more detail is needed than that, i think.

10. The above opinion is conjecture, but not to far off I think.
I hope you are correct in your opinion. I agree that it is less likely that they will succeed with a full out war with Iran at this time. In the meantime, I am sure they are strategizing as much as possible to keep Iran off-balance.

I can't stand it that the Aristocrats of this world still act like they are playing a giant game of Risk. I feel like a triangular piece of plastic this morning.

13. With That I Agree
I find it annoying as well that we now have this economic aristocracy who are allowed to engage in such behaviors.

But, i think the american people have lost their taste for war and feel that any revenge over 9/11 has been obtained. So, even those with a thirst for vengeance are satisfied.

16. Neither was Iraq and look where we are today...
...There is no doubt in my mind that the US will attack Iran BEFORE the end of Bushitler's term either directly under the false pretense of "pre-emption" or under the guise of "defending Israel", or "Supporting Israel" after an attack by them on Iran...

My only hope is that none of the materiel used is 'nukular' because then we would ALL be well and truly screwed...

9. You could be right - i think it's more likely if Obama wins the election
or is very likely to win. Bush and the Neo Conservatives want war with Iran and they might decide they can't wait . I don't know if it will happen this way though; too much lead time required. I think rather they will start the war over Iranian incursions into Iraq.

14. Well, Israel has already said they have no problem attacking Iran.

I don't see the Saudis helping the Iranians though. It's the Saudis that have been supplying Sunni fighters in Iraq against Iran in the first place.
