Why isn't Kucinich introducing Impeachment the top headline in the blogosphere?
I have been visiting my favorite sites this morning and most are completely ignoring this story.

Common Dreams

Huffington Post

Truthout

Alternet

Others like Buzzflash, truthdig, Democracy Now have a story but it is not really highlighted.

The left blogs should be united in support of this, like we are united at DU, raising so much hell the Corporate News can't ignore it, but they are doing the same damn thing.

Please look at your favorite sites and see if they are reporting on it...

1. Because it's the 3rd time he's introduced these Articles
Third time that I can recall just off the top of my head.

Without support from the leadership, it goes nowhere.

4. This is not the third time
Kucinich has introduced Articles of Impeachment of Bush for the first time, and it makes me suspicious of the owners of any left leaning site if they do not do their part to promote this. Apparently the 'liberal' blogosphere is as useful as the 'liberal' media.

Sure makes me appreciate DU! This place is where it is at!

10. I was thinking of 333 and 799, which were Articles against Cheney
I was mistaken. This is the third time he's introduced Articles of Impeachment.

28. What a shame there are so few in Congress who are willing
to back impeachment proceedings...799 was brought to the floor immediately after 333 was allowed to sit for 6 months without any debate. The text was basically the same.

But that doesn't explain why the top most read 'liberal' blogs are ignoring the story. It is obviously not because of lack of interest or demand.

12. This is the time when we should all be uniting our voices and screaming loudly

Why isn't MOVEON, True Majority etc putting the word out, telling everyone to call their Congressman NOW.?!

A normal peace movement would be overwhelmed with joy and naturally supportive.

It is times like these I feel that our 'peace movement' groups/sites are owned and controlled by COINTELPRO.

14. Because they don't take it seriously? Just like...
the rest of Congress and most of the country don't take it seriously?

Note that in the entire history of this country, not one President has been successfully impeached and convicted, and Nixon was ousted only with the assistance of his own party.

But, dream on in the faint hope Saint Dennis can pull it off.

15. But clearly the liberal left are interested
Look at DU!! Man this place is hopping with excitement and information about Impeachment.

How is it possible for top sites like Huffington Post or Common Dreams to ignore this?

I don't think we are counting on false hope. This Impeachment discussion is the launching ground for exposing all of Bush's crimes, most obviously lying about Iraq, in an attempt to stop him from lying AGAIN about Iran and killing another million innocent people.

16. Only that part of the liberal left with time on its hands...
I'm that other part of the liberal left, and I have to choose my battles with my limited resources. I have no time for impeachment or any other windmill tilting.

Now, if it had a half-assed chance of actually happening...

Edited on Tue Jun-10-08 12:06 PM by MrCoffee
DK introduced Articles of Impeachment against Cheney twice before, and they're languishing in legislative hell.

These latest Aricles have zero potential to them. They're pretty to look at, and that's about it.

Edited to correct my Quality Use of the Shift Key.

That has no chance of going forward.

More than likely its a play to his "base" to set him up for his inevitable and futile 2012 presidential campaign.

20. Dennis is giving us the opportunity to unite our voices and Demand accountability
But the 'liberal' blogosphere is too hopeless to participate?

This is pathetic and unhelpful and they are creating the situation that they don't mind complaining about. Everyday we get stories 'oh my gawd- can you believe Bush did this' and 'Oh my Gawd Can you believe Condi said that' but when it comes to an ACTION that actually calls for accountability, they feel it is not worth mentioning?

29. Because the establishment doesn't want to rock the boat.
The "left blogs" you mention are generally more centrist than left, and anything or anyone that sneaks left of center will be silenced or discredited...one way or another.

Democrats are not going to impeach. They just aren't. The 2 party system exists to manipulate us, not to serve us. There aren't enough politicians who are willing to actually do their jobs, rather than protect their jobs, for that to happen.

This still needed to be done. It's now officially in the record, permanently recording the legacy of crimes that Bush and his administration leave behind.

At least there is that. Maybe if we raise some hell about it we can stop the war on Iran.

I agree with you on the two party system, but I like to hold on to some hope that more Dems like Kucinich will come along and help take back the party of the people for the people.
