Music to My Ears
Submitted by davidswanson on Tue, 2008-06-10 09:07.

By Cindy Sheehan

Around 5pm (PDST) this evening, I received an email saying that Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-Oh) was introducing 35 articles of impeachment against the sham-illegitimate-criminal president of the United States, George W. Bush, on the House floor at that very moment and that I should change my channel to CSPAN to watch.

I sat on my couch riveted for the next 4 hours as my friend Dennis (America's most courageous Congressman) read the thirty-five articles with the supporting evidence. A diminutive Congressman from Ohio and twice principled presidential candidate has done more for impeachment and to restore the rule of law than any other person in Congress to date. Today, he made me proud to be an American for the first time in a hell of a long time.

After Dennis read each article and the supporting evidence he would sing this beautiful refrain:

In all these actions and decisions, President George W. Bush has acted in a manner contrary to his trust as president and commander in chief and subversive of constitutional government to the prejudice and the cause of law and justice and to the manifest injury to the people of the USA.

Wherefore George W. Bush by such conduct is guilty of an impeachable offense warranting removable from office.

Our soldiers that have been abused and misused by the empire, and especially the ones who have died, deserve a Congress that takes their oath of office seriously. It is not fair to ask our troops to do something that Congress will not. Our troops are killed, wounded, and are turned into killers being forced to follow their oaths. Nancy Pelosi has much less at stake and if she does not do her duty, we should demand her resignation in the name of all planetary citizens who have been killed, wounded, hurt, imprisoned, tortured, impoverished, sickened, made homeless, devastated and/or destroyed by BushCo.

Way to go Dennis! You honored the sacrifice of my son by holding his commander in chief responsible for the "manifest injury" that he has perpetrated on our world.

1. I am so glad that she found some comfort in this. I hope all the
grieving parents who blame ** get some measure of satisfaction over this.

3. I am, too. She's fought so long and hard for any action; this must
be some consolation.

6. Have you had a son killed in Iraq? Have you even walked two steps
in her shoes? Don't be so quick to criticize.

I'll keep that in mind she's rattling on about "occupied New Orleans" and some of her other batshit crazy tirades....

There are so many who, as soon as they encounter someone who perceives things differently then themselves, they immediately deem the other as "crazy?"

It seems to me this stems from the right wing, corporate mainline media, as it's a tried and true tactic of its punditry.

Naturally the divide and rule scheme works. It panders to our base reflexes, as many pick up on it, apparently relishing the notion of dismissing any view {from the supposed high ground} that varies from your own {groupthink} as somehow not being part of the "reality based community." I really hope we begin to see the over-reliance on this stratagem diminish.
