Anyone Think Larry Johnson is COINTELPRO?
Edited on Tue Jun-10-08 11:04 AM by SidneyCarton
CIA connections, Insinuated himself into the Democratic party, active in several progressive movements, then all of the sudden he becomes a major league disruptor as soon as we get a viable candidate to take the White House.

Just Sayin...

(Note to Mods, not sure whether this should be in GD, or GD-P, though I suppose it might be just paranoid to belong in the dungeon) If I'm wrong in placing it, please feel free to move it.

1. I cannot help but wonder...
What The Wilsons think of him now. Apropos of nothing, I suppose.

4. Sometimes Real Government Agents Suggest Someone Else Is An Agent
To cover their tracks. So let's stay away from "agent-baiting". That kind of baiting and asking "do you think someone is Cointelpro" is just as bad as falsely accusing someone of being a government agent and just causes suspicion and distrust among progressives. So unless you have real proof that someone is a CIA agent let's knock it off.

OK?

7. Fair enough.
I see your point. Believe it or not I was not trying to start a flamewar, nor a witch hunt. If anything I wondered if anyone happened to know something I didn't on this subject. That said, current responses on this topic seem to prove that my inkling was merely baseless suspicion.

9. So what are you saying?
We should live in denial about the use of agent provacateurs?

10. I Think the poster illustrates the danger of Agent Provocateurs
As soon as we begin to suspect, where do we draw the line? Mr. Johnson may well be a provocateur, however, he may be as others have posted here, be a mere asshole, of whom we have numerous in the movement. The problem is, how do we tell? In this way many good and useful, yet stubborn and asocial progressives are tarred with the mark of collaborator, and discredited. Such is the brilliance of ideas such as COINTELPRO, we end up having a devil of a time knowing who is who.

Hence, in his own way, the poster was arguing that we should not be too hasty in accusing anyone of being a provocateur, a position that I actually do not disagree with.

13. I'm with you.
Don't mind the others, his behavior is erratic and disruptive. He might not be that, but his interests seem questionable.

8. Also a very real possibility, after all people don't necessarily need ulterior motives to disrupt.

11. nah--he's just Clint-sane.
maybe he'll get over it someday. I doubt he's got the insider approval to be part of Bush's
Cointelpro team--they always hated him. He's a loose cannon.
