McCain says Obama running for Jimmy Carter's second term. WTF!?!
This is his answer to Him running for Bush's third term? Jimmy Carter is the most respected ex-President we've had in decades. He is well liked and well regarded. His proposals, like ended our dependency on foreign oil by this century (wouldn't that have been nice) were prophetic. And then there's that Nobel Peace Prize.
What fucking century and country does McCain live in?

9. That was a really weird comment. There's a whole cohort of voters who don't remember Carter....
...so McCain is talking to all the old farts in the country (so to speak -- I remember the Carter presidency) and not the youth. However, there are some people who still think Carter was a fool and/or a bust at the presidency -- my uncle, a retired professor in his late 70s, shocked me by sharply refuting my admiration for our Nobel Laureate.

John McCain -- man of mystery.

Hekate

25. It's not "weird", it's a trial balloon
I've seen this theme pop up in a couple of places since the end of last week.

A _suspicious_ couple of places...

I'm smelling the hot air of a trial balloon: there are plenty of people (especially among recent (but defectable) Republican voters) who still view Carter's presidency as weak and a disaster, and luckily St Ron saved us.

So McLame's people are trying out running against Obama as the 2nd coming of Jimmy Carter, and seeing if it flies.

26. Obviously, "A vote for McCain would be a vote for a third term for Bush", is getting to him.
He's trying to counter that, by using the same sort of slogan against Obama. But it's BULLSHIT on so many levels! Let him continue in that direction; it only points out how CLUELESS he is!

In my opinion, Carter will look much better, in historical perspective, than he does in the MSM, today.

1. Carter inherited a economy that was left in shambles by Nixon’s decision to prolong the Viet Nam war for 6 long years (instead of making good on his “secret plan to end the war"). America blamed Carter for not fixing everything in 4 years. (That should be a cautionary tale for Obama and the Dems);

2. Carter was unable to gain the release of the Iranian hostages but only because candidate Reagan cut a “back door deal” with the Ayatollahs in Tehran to hold the hostages until he took office. That, alone, is what probably cost Carter his re-election;

3. Carter did not violate the Constitution, as Reagan did with “Iran-Contra;”

4. Do you really think we would be fighting for $137/barrel oil, today, if the U.S. had remained committed to Carter’s dedication to alternative fuels?

5. Do you really think we would be torturing people in Gitmo, and abu Ghaib, and black site prisons, and torture ships, if the U.S. had remained committed to Carter’s Human Rights policies?

"Four More Years of Jimmy Carter?" Not only YES, but HELL YES!
