4. You know, I see the same ratio of wacko:rational responses in that thread...
Edited on Tue Jun-10-08 01:40 PM by Richardo
...as I do in many threads around here. Many of the responses in that thread point out that it is a non-issue regarding Obama, and that McCain was born in the Canal Zone.

They foam at the mouth in a very entertaining manner a lot of the time, but that thread is not one of them.

They do spell worse, however.

5. I scraped this sewage from FR... LOL!
The Short Bus Krewe discusses:

youshouldknowthetruth: I thought you had to be a born American.

To: youshouldknowthetruth
Since he was born on US soil in Hawaii in 1961, since he is over the legally required age, and since he has lived in the US over 14 years...the answer is yes.

Of course, none of that negates the point that Barack Hussein Obama is the apex of the hate-America, domestic enemy in this country. His election as president would be the greatest coup any enemy has ever scored against this country and could easily lead to the worst, horrific disaster in our nation's history.

To: youshouldknowthetruth

Hillary’s lawyer herd would have been all over this a year ago if it was an issue.

To: taxcontrol

You’re right. Yes this needs to be discussed as much as John McCain not being qualified because he was born in the Panama Canal Zone.

9. Many of those same freepers made the same arguments AGAINST McCain
McCain was not born in the U.S. He was born on a Naval Base in Panama. In fact, the Hospital he was born in was technically NOT ON THE BASE. So, one could say McCain can't be POTUS for the same reason.

15. They are desparate
of course. The same type of person that they wouldn't want as a neighbor is a candidate for President of the United States. That, by itself, is enough to make freeper heads explode.

16. The link there is tortured bizarro logic even by FR standards
http://aina.org/news/20080610032620.htm

Basically this pretzel logic would have anybody born to a mom under 23 not being a citizen? I mean I THINK that's what it says. Whoever wrote it graduated from the Jeff Gannon Journalism Academy!

23. that would eliminate my RW brother (and me)
Mother - Nov. 1941
RW Brother - Oct. 1960 (not even 19 years old yet)
me - Jun 1963 (21 yrs)

Of course, that would probably preclude most freepturds ... of course, that's likely statutory rape on their part. If a freeptard divorces his wife, is she still his sister?

22. This issue's been settled a zillion times. If you're born as an American citizen, you're qualified.
Ironically, the last presidential candidate to face this issue was George Romney, whose American mother gave birth to him while living in Mexico.

Muslim father in a Muslim country. Like he still wouldn't, as the child of an American mother, still be a born American.

I have only one question for FR - if Obama is NOT a US citizen, how come he has the US passport that there was such a flap over when somebody snooped his file?
