Do conservatives get a discount on gas?
I go to the ignorant side of the internet every now and then. Especially when there is a particularly divisive issue at hand. Over there they love the way that big oil operates.

It makes sense that if one is trying to get a handle on fuel prices to start at the source. Record profits by big oil is one of the things that is driving our country into the poorhouse. Conservatives across the board are defending the blatant price gouging of the oil companies and condemning any attempt at regulation.

What is their solution? Drill, drill, drill. It seems that the only thing keeping gas prices high is commie tree huggers blocking them from drilling in Alaska and Florida.

They ignore the fact that it would take at least ten years to develop.

They somehow forget that it would be sold on the open market to any country with the cash.

Can the free market voodoo faith be so strong with them that they would rather be robbed every time they fill-up than admit that things have gotten out of hand? When trucks can no longer afford to deliver food to the supermarket, how will they blame that on democrats? Somehow with Republicans setting all time records for filibusters and a veto mad president, democrats are apparently responsible for it all.

The only thing that makes sense is that conservatives get a discount for their shameless defense of an industry that is sapping our economy and contributing to the worst crisis our country has faced in decades.

Our government used in the right way has the power to reverse this death spiral that Bushco has gotten us into. Conservatives are fighting it with everything they have because it will prove that free market energy benefits no one but the stockholders.

Go Obama!

2. They'll be reduced to peasantry, yet they would still worship their lords.
The greedy leading the blind.

3. That's what is being sold to them and they buy it ,as always.
I don't understand how they can be so easily led, but they bite over and over. That's why * and his ilk are still in power.

4. They apparently
are more interested in hating Liberals than the consequences of the policies of the party they do follow.

7. Yes! It sounds incredible, but I think it's true.
It's the unexamined belief that they will turn gay if they support a liberal idea.

5. They are too farking stupid to put
2 and 2 together, much less understand these facts. The other thing about the drilling in Alaska?? One well aimed rifle bullet can shut the entire thing down. Asking for trouble.

14. From a purely economic view
increased supply, no matter the source, will be shipped to buyers based on the futures markets. More worldwide supply, or less worldwide demand, would drop prices.

8. during the 70's oil crisis all it took was a Republican card to get
free gas and bypass the lines. Probably hasn't changed much over the years. Kinda makes ya want to...naw.

9. I don't know about gas, but at my cat hospital, people who I know to
be RWers get charged more than those who are liberals, where the fees in question have some leeway.......it's not a huge difference in most cases, but if they are Bush fans and live in certain neighborhoods and drive certain cars, then they are gonna help subsidize vet care for blue kitties.......

11. are you serious?!
That's kind of funny, in a bad way.
But, I agree that anyone who flaunts their Bush-love in a veterinary office should be charged more simply for being obnoxious.

13. It's not much, mind you. $10 here, $15 there. I wouldn't do it to
anybody with financial troubles regardless of party, and wouldn't do it to any elderly unless they are wearing tasteless amounts of gold jewelry in addition to supporting Bush, but YEP. You come in here in a brand new giant black Mercedes or Beemer and I see you live south of the blvd, and you indicate you don't like Dems or you think Bush is ok, I am gonna use my discretion with fees.

I am the boss.

The vast majority of my clients HATE Bush, BTW.

In case you get into a debate with this one, be prepared for the inevitable "if Congress had not blocked the ANWR bill in 1995, we'd have oil flowing now."

15. Price control = shortages
So while I don't like paying $3.85/gal I like it more then having to wait 1 hour in line for the gas.
