I just donated $25 to Tom Allen (D) for US Senator from Maine. |
|
He's trailing incumbent Susan Collins (R) by 10 points, 52% to 42%. She has the support of "27% of liberal voters." He can definitely get more liberals on his side with more money. Let's make this a close race. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_senate_elections/maine/election_2008_maine_senate2

I think he'll close this gap before November. Sue's can't run on much and her DHS record is awful. She's ineffectual in her Party and we know how important this race could be in getting an obstructionist-proof Senate.
I'll match yeah with an Al Franken donation!

You've inspired me. :hi: It's time for me to donate again! It won't be easy, but I think there's a shot at getting rid of Susie.
I was PO'd earlier today when I drove by some of her signs and noticed that they said "our senator". Not my senator by a long shot! :grr:

4. Allen's primary was today. |
|
He has to fend off a Dem challenger today to be on the ticket. He should have that wrapped up by the time I type this ... then full steam ahead to the GE and hopefully a sound thrashing of Ms. Collins.

6. "Allen beat political newcomer Tom Ledue" |
|
"...racking up more than 80 percent of the vote in the Senate primary. Allen now faces Republican incumbent Susan Collins in one of the nation's most closely watched Senate races this fall. Collins was unopposed in the Republican primary." http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5i23h4XqvR0Ph96aWYyZ4PgI54YCwD917PSEG0
