Dear Congress - there's a reason why your approval ratings are so low
you won't do your fucking jobs and "defend and protect" the Constitution!!!

For all those nay-sayers that Impeachment is wrong timing, or will work against us in the election - they've misjudged the mood of this country just as badly as all the political "experts" misjudged where Sen Obama's campaign would go.

People are so hungry for something to slap down "business as usual" I think we'd see a huge outpouring of support. Every single time some pundit or politician (or even DU'er) says that this is the wrong time/place/way and that impeachment now won't work - I'm going to send them a copy of this as a reminder:

2. Its never too late to do the right thing
granted there is a time when it is too late to get the results you may want but that doesn't mean one should not do the right thing. We have to do something about these traitors if we wish to leave a democracy for our grand children, theres just no two ways about it.

3. Once again they want "change".
It won't happen with this Congress and President. Another election manipulated and controlled by the Neo Cons.

4. They can't say "there's no evidence"
It's now RIGHT THERE, in the Congressional Record.

There should be a MASSIVE effort to defeat Pelosi. If she had shown ONE OUNCE of political courage, the occupation would be over and REAL CRIMINALS would be investigated.

5. Just what they did during the disasters is reason to impeach.
They were all AWOL in a time of need.

6. They Can't Even Get Energy Relief Through
Most people I know hate booosh but could care less about impeachment. They're more worried about making ends meet...avoiding financial implosion between rising energy, food and health costs. Many would love the luxuary to be outraged about Iraq or 9/11 or other boooosh lies and crimes, but their situation needs a government that can help them make it through this mess.

Right now Congress is non-functional...any meaningful reform is obstructed in both Houses and then is vetoed and upheld by 33 GOOP votes that don't give a rats ass about how bad people suffer. These are asshats who voted against Mother's Day...ya think they're gonna do "the right thing"...even if there's overwhelming popular support (which there really isn't) to impeach and completely shut the government down?

Those people in Portland didn't come out to support impeachment, they came out to support a candidate they hope will start restoring sanity to the government. People want booooosh gone but I don't see support for shutting the government down for two show trials that will end up in exoneration for both boooosh and cheney.

7. That's not it.
Congress' ratings are low because the petty one-upmanship that Gingrich brought to bear in 1994 dictates that you can never give the other party even the smallest victory. This of course prevents practically anything of substance being done.

Despite all the foaming at the mouth we see here, real-life America is not clamoring for impeachment. Real-life America wants its problems solved: energy, health care, economy, Iraq. Yes, these have all been caused or exacerbated by Administration malfeasance, but I guarantee if Congress opened full impeachment proceedings, its ratings would fall to the 2% range. People want shit DONE.

And by the way, IF the House votes to impeach, Bush will never be convicted by two-thirds of the Senate, I don't care how much you stamp your feet and hold your breath. So then he gets to claim he was fully exonerated. Pretty shallow 'victory'.
