Ailing Paul Newman turns over $120 million to charity
http://www.buzzflash.net/story.php?id=55104
Paul Newman has quietly turned over the entire value of his ownership in Newman's Own -- the company that makes salad dressing and cookies -- to charity. Completed over a two-year period in 2005 and 2006, the amount of his donations to Newman's Own Foundation Inc. comes to an astounding $120 million. IF THERE ARE ANY HEROES LEFT, PAUL IS ONE OF THEM.

1. Yes indeed
he's battling cancer, but did appear maybe last year in a local play for charity, if memory serves. (Local being CT, where he lives.)

2. I'm sorry to hear he's ailing. Anyone have info on this?
I used to buy his products all the time, great stuff, and I felt like I was helping a little. If the company had gone organic, they'd still have me as a customer. Maybe someday...

4. Yes.. He is a hero...and seems to avoid the adulation that most men in his position
appear to crave.

IMDB.COM has a lot of info on him...
