Right to vote?
I have heard this argument before and I have read it elsewhere, but isn't there technically no constitutional right to vote?

1. Technically it doesn't define voting as a right in the way speech is defined.
However, it does require elections, and underlines the ways people cannot be barred from voting.

2. yeah the constitution in its original form allowed for votes only by....
selected electors as appointed by the individual states. The reason for this as I remember it from Gov't class in high school was because without the mass communication the vast majority of people would have no idea what each candidate stood for politically. The electors knew each candidate and then would vote for who they thought was best qualified for POTUS. According to the 14th amendment the right to vote cannot be abridged except for participation in rebelion. Now the 15th amendment says that "the right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude." The constituion does not technically give us the right to vote but it does say that our right to vote cannot be taken away.

3. Yeah, there is no Right to Life in the Constitution....so what.....?
....The phrase "right to vote" appears a number of times starting with the Fourteenth Amendment.

There are many laws protecting the right to life - a right which is not enumerated in the Constitution.

There are many laws protecting the right to vote - a right which IS enumerated in the Constitution.
