Impeachment and Obama
While I wish he felt exactly as I do about impeachment(Yeahhh! Now! Let's get going!) I understand how he wouldn't want this issue to take over the entire campaign and suck the oxygen out of the room for every other issue.

I really think he should just say:

"I understand that articles have been introduced in the House and referred to the Judiicary committee, which is the correct procedure. Whether the Committee and the House choose to move forward or not, I will back their decision. When I am President, I have already stated that we will be examining a lot of the actions and procedures of this administration. If anything we find rises to the level of criminal conduct, we will make a referral to the Justice Department."

I think that would cover it and he could move on to other issues.

4. Well, not in those words, but I thought he said something remarkable similar.
And if he hasn't, then he should go ahead and make that statement first AND THEN he can use the response that references it.

;-)

12. I would love it if he did
but I really don't think he will.
I like Obama, but reading his books the big take-away for me was that he's far more conciliatory than I am.

I think if something comes to light that should plainly be prosecuted I think he will... but I don't think he will appoint anybody to look into if crimes were committed by the previous administration.

I know I know.. there are things that should be plainly prosecuted... but most, if not all, of those aren't so plain or criminal to Joe Sixpack.

3. He has stated clearly that he opposes impeachment:
"I believe if we began impeachment proceedings we will be engulfed in more of the politics that has made Washington dysfunction," he added. "We would once again, rather than attending to the people's business, be engaged in a tit-for-tat, back-and-forth, non-stop circus."

5. I know, and I think he's wrong
I think when the kinds of things occurred that Kucinich had the courage and stamina to enter into the Congressional record, it IS doing's the people's business to rectify the situation.

7. It is telling that so many more Democratic voters chose Obama over Kucinich

8. I am on record as my first preferred candidate in the primaries was Kucinich
Actually, I went

Gore-Kucinich-Edwards- Obama

If Kucinich had stayed in, I would have been happy to vote for him. (Although I was very cranky when that whole Ron Paul for VP issue came up)

11. The whole Ron Paul mess shows just how out of step Kucinich is with most Democrats

9. You could argue that because DK is treated so poorly covered by the media,
and that BO gets treated so well, that that outcome would be inevitable.

But I agree with you.

13. Hillary got far more press than Obama early in the campaign, yet Obama managed to become the
frontrunner and eventually the nominee.

14. Still, DK's always been the 'bastard child' as considered by the media.

Thank you. That's the problem with impeachment. I love Dennis for doing this, but it really is a tactical nightmare for Obama's campaign. We're in a time crunch right now. If I have to choose between arresting an arsonist and putting out a fire, I'll go with whichever choice limits the actual damage best.
