Pro-Iraq War Liberal Christopher Hitchens: "I Might Orgasm In My Trousers" Over Fall Of Bill Clinton
With so-called liberals like this ...

"The ex-president revealed to a crucial number of people something that many of us already knew: he is a raging psycho," said the Vanity Fair writer. "It's very gratifying to see more people catching up to that now."

Explaining that Sen. Clinton's loss was due in large part to her husband's behavior on the trail, Hitchens, a troublesome grin appearing on his face, concluded: "That pleases me more than I can say. In fact, I think I might orgasm in my trousers."

A controversial literary figure, Hitchens has long been a fierce critic of Clinton. He devoted an entire book to the former president's propensity to bend truths and tendency to use divisive racial politics. And during the current campaign he has chimed in, every now and then, with perverse pleasure over the poor-reviews Bill Clinton was receiving.

1. There's a visual I'd rather not have. And I didn't know anyone considered
Christopher Hitchens a liberal.

6. They do when he's bashing Christianity
Which happens way too often among people who consider themselves enlightened. I'm an agnostic, btw.

Hitchens is a drunken ego-maniac with no redeeming qualities I can see.

16. He's an anti-religionist and a Trotskyist
His "departure" from the left began with the weak reaction in England to the fatwah issued against his friend Salman Rushdie for The Satanic Verses. He subsequently used theo-fascism to justify his support for interventionism against radical Islam.

I despise religion, and I am especially intolerant of fundamentalist, evangelical and expansionist sects, as a personal philosophy.

Actually pursuing an "interventionist" agenda STARTS AND ENDS with the separation of church and state at home and separating religious oligarchy from our standards of human rights and human decency abroad.

Everything that is "interventionist" in my book follows from enforcing human rights and civil rights, regardless of religiouss practice.

If we refuse to deal with a government that executes gays for being gay, or women for accidentally flashing an ankle, or Palestinians for sitting at home eating dinner, we win. They can scream religious persecution all they want as long as we claim to uphold human rights, and they're the ones who look as profoundly ugly as they are.

19. Actually, Hitch is a recovering Trotskyist.
And, for some reason, the Fourth International and all its subsets(The People's Front of Judea, the Judean People's front(splitters)the Popular Front of Judea) have produced more than their share on neocons.

Indeed, the person considered the intellectual founder of neoconservatism, James Burnham, had been a committed Trot only a year before:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Burnham

Norman Podhoretz and Irving Kristol were also drawn from Trotskyist ranks.

3. Christopher Hitchens is the biggest drunken blowhard in all of humanity.
His schtick is that he will say anything just to be a contrarian, because that is what he describes himself to be. Us lay persons just call that being an asshole.

That anyone buys any of his books on any topic or takes anything the man says seriously proves that there are just some gulliable people out there.

He ain't no liberal. Just a drunken, attention-seeking asshole.

Wish I could remember who it was that called him
a druken sot, or something along those lines.

If I recall, the term used to describe Hitchens was the British version of "a flaming asshole", or something along those lines.

And to think at one time very many years ago, I actually liked reading his stuff.

The rightwingers had a grand ole time during the primaries. Finally! After so long, they got Bill Clinton! Using Democrats to do it of course - what a happy ending for them!

Hitchens is neither a liberal nor a literary figure.

I know Rush and his ilk are laughing their hoglike asses off over how much hatred this primary managed to direct at both Clintons.

So many so-called Democrats proclaiming how Rush and The Newt were right all along!

It makes me sick to my stomach. People here seem happy about it though. Not even willing to entertain the notion that they were manipulated.

(Psssst. You were.)

15. peasants and goatherders
need their devils.

We shouldn't take them away - it makes them feel all skeert not to have someone to hate.

If someone like Hitchens wants credibility in his journalistic endeavors, he should consider a more equitable and balanced opinion, and then weigh the good versus the bad.

Diatribes illuminate nothing.
