No tomatoes at the salad bar.
The guy told me they stopped receiving them yesterday. BUT ones grown here in Virginia ARE safe. Which is nice.

Life without store bought tomatoes, what WILL people do???

4. I was able to buy waist high tomato plants in "patio" pots
which was nice for me since I haven't got anything more than an herb garden at the moment.

5. Grow your own as I do.
I've got more than I can eat right now; it's wonderful. The taste to store bought can't be compared.

10. I know
we got a late start but the garden (knock on wood) is really bursting already.

Roma, grape, and regular tomatoes
corn
peppers green and yellow
cucumbers
radishes
green beans
lots of squash
watermelons
and tons of herbs-my wife has a huge oregano plant and some other ones too

My job was to turn the dirt over (12' X 16') and to pick the weeds

We are going to add on a raised section (due to roots in the area) and grown lettuce and some other stuff.

My wife didn't go to the grocery store for 5 months straight last year. Farm bought eggs and beef. I had to go to get paper products but we cut back on that-using cloth napkins

13. That's outstanding.
I'd like to get where you are; I grew up in PA and know how to grow stuff there; still learning how to do it in Texas (much earlier). :hi:

8. 15 plants and just covered with tomatoes
arkansas travelers, big boys, better boys and sweet 100s plus six of the plants are supposed to have multi-colored tomatos.

11. cherry, grape, red pear tomatoes....birdy num num!
those are the only ones around here that taste like real tomatoes. I almost never buy regular ones anymore.

nothing worse than that coarse, mealy texture, with zero flavor

how can anybody eat that garbage?

later on in the summer local tomatoes are good, but not til August, usually
