John McCain..Wanting it both ways..

John claims to be a high-principled maverick republican. Chock-full of republican "values"..

The values he claims are:

military service
POW status
Torture victim
love of country
conservative family values
long-term marriage
kids
grandkids

BUT...to claim many of those values, he has to go WAAAAY back into the past.

There is NO way we can allow him to cherry-pick HIS past, (FIFTY PLUS YEARS AGO), and then cry "FOUL", when anyone brings up his age or some other fairly unsavory parts of his past...things very UN-family-God & country- friendly

He was a MARRIED man when , at 42, he began his affair with Miss Cindy-Beer-Heiress..

He totally DISRESPECTED his wife, who waited faithfully for HIM..She was no longer the "beauty" he left behind, so he dumped her..

He was involved (more than he admits) in a MAJOR financial scandal (Keating Five), and was even censured by congress for it.

His "conservative values" do not appear to extend to his OWN family life. He lives a rich-man's life as a kept man.

HE has suckled from the government teat his WHOLE life..had not a moment's lapse in medical care/coverage.

It's easy to "love his country"..one that has given HIM so much, yet he is always ready to vote against anything that might share that country's benefits with others.

He was at his Maverick-y best when there was a democratic majority, since he had "cover" when he stood up against something his party proposed..something that would not have passed anyway.
