Hey Democrats: Obama proved that you CAN impeach
Show of hands. Who here thought Barack Obama had even the slightest chance of winning the nomination 2 years ago, especially going up against the machine that is the Clintons?

Yes he can, and yes he did.

"We don't have the votes"
"It's going to hurt us"
"There is not enough time"

BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH

Enough with that losing attitude. I've had it with the spinelessness of the Democratic party. There are so many litmus tests to determine who deserves to be called a Democrat, but I'm starting to think not being so unbelievably cowardly when it comes to standing up for what is right ought to be at the top of the list.

It is proven fact that George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, and several others have committed crimes. Bush admitted to unconstitutionally spying on American citizens without a warrant. That right there is enough to impeach, not to mention the hundreds of other reasons.

Thank you, Mr. Kucinich. I wish every single Democrat was just like you.

There is a new head of the Democratic party. His name is Barack Hussein Obama. His father is from Kenya and his mother is from Kansas. He is a young, charismatic black man who nobody had even heard of 4 years ago. He beat the candidate with name recognition, money, a popular ex-president for a husband, and the aura of inevitability. He is going to be the next president of the United States of America.

Had I wrote the previous paragraph two years ago, how many of you would have responded with this:

Or this: :eyes:

Probably the same people who say impeachment can't happen, or is not a good idea, or this or that, or blah blah blah.

Enough. Get used to the fact that given the right leadership, things can happen.

IMPEACH

2. Works for me!
I think Dennis sees the writing on the wall with the takeover of the DNC by Obama and the new ban on corporate and PAC money. There's a new Sheriff in town and the neocons are shitting their britches!

6. Good points.
Nothing's impossible. Impeach. By the time it gets to the Senate the evidence will be so overwhelming and Americans so incensed that any senator who doesn't convict will have to worry about losing their seat next time around.

7. There is only one reason the Democratic power elite want to keep
impeachment "off the table", that is the general slime that will be exposed. There were, and are, quite a few Democrats with their snouts deep in the trough. Everyone is afraid that once the facts start rolling out, they will get out of control and wipe them all out.

8. With the current Democratic "leadership" in the house
Impeachment will not happen - if it were, it should have begun in 2006. I would be satisfied with war crimes trials after President Obama is sworn in.

10. I think that was what the OP was saying...
2 years ago no one would have said that Obama would be the nominee. Lots can happen in 2 years, especially when one is up for re-election and has to face their constituents. Of course, if 'we the people' don't give a shit you are right.

11. Why can't we wait until he's out of office?
Then we can use the full force of government to ferret out and fix his wrongdoings.

15. We can but you and I know what will happen.

The leadership will decide that there is NO point in pursuing it since * is out of office and they have much more important things to do. In other words they will feel safe from their complicity and won't do anything to disturb that.

14. I thought he definitely had a chance two years ago
Despite the Hillary supporters who said that her lead was insurmountable I knew that things change right after Iowa just like they did with Kerry.
