1. What's left of America's onshore supplies
versus our demand... like using an eyedropper to fill your bathtub.

2. ...I just don’t think we can let these people back into polite society"...

“Now, I just don’t think we can let these people back into polite society and give them jobs on university boards and corporate boards and just let them pretend that nothing ever happened when there are 4,000 Americans dead and 25,000 Americans grievously wounded, and they’ll carry those wounds and suffer all the rest of their lives.”--Richard Clarke

The White House princilples deserve criminal prosecution. For Gingrich, however, this is a fine prescription.

3. I laugh when I hear that.
as noted above we simply don't have much left onshore.
But even if we did, why would the drillers sell the oil only in the US and only at a modest profit? Just guessing but I am thinking they would rather sell it at $140/bbl on the market rather than $50.
So if they drill here and the oil simply goes on the market, how does that help us? If there were legislation forcing them to sell in the US only and only at a modest profit, no one would drill.
But give Newtie credit for this. It is a simple little ditty that can keep the simple mind occupied.
Oh and that Chuckly Norris video on Newties site is a hoot.

Ding! Ding!

They see the market at an all-time high (daily!), and it chaps their collective hides that they aren't in on the supply side of bidness.

6. Plus it is not like they owe any allegiance to America
most are multi-national bottom line seeking companies. As long as they get their bucks they don't care if they are euros, pounds or yuan.
