Woman claims police let husband bleed to death in SUV
The kicker paragraph in this article: "Dispatch and fire-rescue records to check the chronology of events have not been released because the Police Department's investigation is ongoing, but the four or five men who sat by helplessly watching Randall die estimate they were delayed between one and two hours before help arrived, attorney Douglas Bates said."

A Pompano Beach woman has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Fort Lauderdale, claiming officers refused to help her husband as he bled to death in the back of an SUV.

Chad Randall was heading to the hospital after a stray bullet struck him at a Fort Lauderdale barbecue on Oct. 29, 2006, when the driver pulled over after spotting police in the 1000 block of North Federal Highway, according to suit filed by Marie Anderson, 27. Someone got out of the car and flagged the officers down, she said.

Instead of helping, the officers patted down the vehicle's occupants and checked for outstanding warrants, Anderson claims in the suit filed May 20. Randall's brother told the officers that there was a man bleeding in the back of the vehicle, Anderson said.

"They said no, they couldn't do anything for them," she said.

4. It doesn't take 2 hours to pat people down and check
the computer for outstanding warrants. We're talking 10 minutes, tops.

I just wonder what the rest of the story is.

5. first someone posts a story about a nurse getting thrown
in jail for 10 months for helping a cop, and now a story about cops letting a man die. hmm.... I guess the cops like death? Every man for himself? So much for being public servants.

6. Sounds like Los Angeles, where LAPD typically treats crime victims
like they are equally guilty. If they had been good citizens, they wouldn't have done anything to provoke an attack, right?
