Obama smears and Cell Phone PopCorn

Obama smears will be popping like Cell phone popcorn.

Really, the "cell phone popping popcorn scare" as well as Obama smears are easy for some to believe for many reasons but mostly because they want to believe in anti-Obama stories.

"If it's too unbelievable to believe it probably is untrue" is hard to follow when a credible friend, boss or spouse repeats or emails the story to an uninformed listener.

The cell phone popcorn story has been challenged but is still out there despite a good effort to debunk it. Smears work and it will be hard work to kill them, but loud widespread efforts ARE the only effective means (as Obama has developed).

Microwaves (2.145GHz, not the band) work best on hydrogen bonds. Fat, water, sugars... Meaning they would heat your skin just as efficiently (if not more so) as the popcorn. Have you ever felt heat next to a cell phone that wasn't coming from the battery? No. It would have to be able burn you if it was able to do this.

Also the power out put of a digital phone is less than 1 watt. Meaning at best, at max output (1 watt), 100% efficiency, and all of the emitted energy being absorbed by the popcorn kernel, three phones would take around 27 seconds to raise the kernel from 21°C to 100°C (approximating the kernel as 1gram of water and assuming that no energy is dissipated by black body radiation, conduction...). Splitting that energy to say 4 kernels would require 4 times as long.

Beside, phones don't operate at 2.145GHz (cooking microwave frequency), just in the microwave band (~1GHz-1,000GHz). Moving away from that cooking microwave frequency decreases the efficiency of the energy transfer to hydrogen bonds (not sure by how much this actually effect a change from 2.145GHz to 1.9GHz though).
