In More Grim News, GOP Writes Off Two Key Senate Seats
By Eric Kleefeld - June 13, 2008, 11:42AM

Wow, this one really spells trouble for the GOP this fall -- the guy in charge of the party's Senate races just basically wrote off the Republicans' chances in two of their five open seats.

At yesterday's Christian Science Monitor forum -- the same venue where he upgraded the GOP's goal to a potential three-seat loss -- NRSC chairman John Ensign was asked point-blank if the party was giving up on the open seats they currently hold in Virginia and New Mexico, where the Democratic nominees are way ahead of the Republicans in current polling.

Ensign said bluntly: "You don't waste money on races that don't need it or you can't win."

1. "You don't waste money on races that don't need it or you can't win."
I hope that they'll have to spend so much money fighting Obama that they cant afford to hold any close seats and we take the Uber Majority. Virginia was where one of the seats was, wow.

Donate to Obama now, so that we can bankrupt the GOP'ers and cause them to lose a ton of seats.

4. I don't trust them. They're no more capable of despair than they are of compassion
They're as relentless as so many rattlesnakes and as single-minded as a pack of hyenas. They won't give up a single seat (house or senate) without a bloody battle to the death. Any indications to the contrary are just distractions and/or prevarications. They'll lie, steal, cheat, and kill to hang on to every shred of power. I won't feel even close to comfortable until we have a 60-seat advantage of REAL Democrats in the U.S. Senate (not including Lieberman, needless to say).
