So......who takes over "Meet The Press"?
It may be a little soon, but I'm dying to know who's going to fill that seat...

Gregory?
Shuster?
Tweety (god forbid)?
pull Brokaw out of retirement?

Personally, I'd like to see them bring back Linda Ellerbee.

3. Let's not talk about this now...
Let's instead honor all the good that Mr. Russert has done for the media and actually getting to the core of the issues. Hopefully Maddow, but let's just send our prayers to the family for now and remember all of his accomplishments.

But WE should not be. Instead WE should be honoring him for all he's done in the journalistic world.

which is promote some faux-populist bullshit where all the life lessons Timmy needed he got from Big Russ.

Yeah, right.

Let me tell you....I'm from Buffalo and if Big Russ is anything like his generation that grew up here, he's a miserable, xenophobic, racist ignoramous who still thinks fag jokes are funny.

All I'm doing is speculating who will take his place on Meet The Press. You are free to join any one of numerous "Let's be nice to a guy whose fucking guts we hated a few months ago" threads on DU.

12. Brokaw would probably be best for now, people know him and like him and i'm sure
the hard core audience of mtp would feel better with Tom as opposed to Williams or the other choices.

I love Linda Ellerbee but that ain't never gonna happen.

As many objections as I did to his type of faux-populist journalism, I'm not going to malign the man. I'm merely asking a question that you can be sure is rising up the flagpole at 30 Rock right now.

... although I intend to stay quiet over the weekend, write a nice letter to their DC bureau, and recommend that they give Olbermann the MTP gig.

I fear, though, this would not be a good venue for her. She needs prime time to shine, not a staid, reserved Sunday morning interview gig.

until the election is over.

My next bet would be Brian Williams or David Gregory.

Long term they may look outside the network.

42. Tweety's background is nearly identical to Russert's.
Edited on Sat Jun-14-08 04:22 PM by dave123williams
Olberman is far to obviously left, Williams already has a job being a hairdo....and professional apologist for establishment interests.

Brokaw isn't so much an interviewer as an anchor, and is retired.

Tweety, or if they're smart, Chuck Todd.
