I think it's a valid question because MTP is probably the most important hour of weekly political news on television. NBC has a gigantic decision to make in a very short time. I'm worried that they'll choose someone like Tweety or Joe Scarborough and completely screw up the show. KO could certainly do it, but I doubt he will.

1. Keith would ask all the right questions.
Tweety would just shower the guests with spittle and Joe would smirk through the entire hour.

2. I'd say they should try to hire Christiane Amanpour away from CNN...
...but I doubt she'd go. She seems to love field work too much.

4. Should be Rachel Maddow.
I'm sorry to see he died, but he wasn't a great journalist.

5. My vote's for Keith.
He's got enough gravitas to do the show justice, and he's professional enough to keep things fair.

The consensus is: short-term, Brokaw. the permanent slot may go to Tweety, unfortunately

7. Tweety was my first thought as well
Edited on Fri Jun-13-08 03:16 PM by KamaAina
The specter of "Press The Meat with Joe 'Dead Intern' Scarborough" had not yet even entered my mind. :scared: But Tweety would be more than bad enough to screw it up for this election season. He doesn't have one of his patented man-crushes on McSatan, does he? :eyes:

edit: spelling

21. I would say David Gregory or Lauer
He was the White House reporter. That is the normal progression here.

Matt Lauer might also want to stop waking up at 3AM.

23. Matt Lauer? You gotta be kidding me ...
He's no journalist. When he tries to do "real news" interviews on the Today Show, he sucks out loud.

Even NBC woudln't be dumb enought put Lauer in there.

20.  I like Lisa Meyers. I have no idea what her politics are but she is an actual journalist.
I love Keith and Rachel but it ain't gonna happen. They are too openly partisan. Tweety already has 2 shows and Scarborough is also too openly partisan. David Gregory is of course a possibility.

Edited on Fri Jun-13-08 04:37 PM by kskiska
She interviewed Brodderick, who had previously sworn under oath that the Clinton story was untrue.

30. I am so disappointed. Thanks for pointing that out. She does seem to dislike Clintons.
I was thinking of her Enron and Huckabee coverage. ALso harrassment of gays in the military. And that foreign fighters in Iraq were Saudis.

35. Andrea Mitchell was promoting "Chuck Todd" to replace Russert...and it's been rumored that Todd
was "The One" to pass over "Matthews" in the succession.. Matthews is to close in age to Russert and Andrea (wife of Alan Greenspan) said ...Todd was the "ONE" who clued Russert into the INTERNET...he's the "Young People's Choice." Just what I heard...don't FLAME ME..because of what I heard.
