2. Not much here.
I guess I should go ride my bike to the levee to see if the water is rising again.

3. Just saw on the news
Edited on Fri Jun-13-08 06:12 PM by Bellator
Just reported and some film of the water level starting down. It looks like the crest is past. We will be flooded for several more days.....but it was good to see the tops of some signs appearing in the water that were under a short time ago...
whoops.....I forgot ....this is in Cedar Rapids.

edit:for location

4. Iowa City and Coralville are going to get slammed
The worst is still to come for IC and Coralville. Sandbaggers are working around the clock - they expect the worst to come Tuesday.
The grocery stores are packed - people stocking up just in case.
We had to leave work early, or risk being stranded on the wrong side of the river.

The University has shut down - except for non-essential personnel (patient care, security, etc).
They have suspended all research activities and asked everyone to turn off all lab equipment (except freezers) and office equipment. Non-essential faculty and staff have been asked to stay home next week. I've never seen anything like it.
