One of my favorite Russert moments... |
|
I do not wish to get into a conversation about the 2000 (s)election. However, long before the election, I remember Tim with his little whiteboard writing Florida on it. I was in Washington DC on election night 2000 and was laying in bed in my hotel room LAAATE at night, after it had been called, then uncalled, then called again, and Tim pulls that little whiteboard out from under the desk and there it was, FLORIDA.
Say what you will about him, actually, don't because too many people are being too disrespectful, but he had a fucking EYE for politics and political math. I'm so sad that we won't be able to hear his analysis as we approach the next election.
That is all.

1. His love of what he did was enough to make me watch him. I |

can't grasp the fact that he worked for and was very good friends with many prominent Dems - he couldn't have been all that bad. I actually liked him most of the time and other times just didn't agree with him. RIP, Mr Russert.

2. I agree, he loved what he did, and I remember that too. |

He was as excited as a little kid trying to figure out what was going on.
