Good Night Timmy ..... "Sleep pretty darling do not cry"
Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullabye

Golden slumbers fill your eyes
Smiles awake you when you rise
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullabye

Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullabye

******************************

Big Russ was so damn proud of you.

6. So do I...
but there has to be a limit to the saccharine nature of our mourning. This 58 year-old grossly overweight diabetic who probably sustained an MI secondary to DVT unfortunately passed away. He was a fixture on TV and the go-to guy for the Bush Administration by their own statements.

This is a loss...but we need to keep some perspective as well

9. OK...I was simply saying that odes written by Lennon/McCartney
of this nature seemd a bit...sweet.

Take care and enjoy your soliloquies and songs...

14. I think his passing around Father's Day
will make, because of his writing about his dad, and his love of family, might make a kind of sense. After all, we memorialize fathers who have passed on Father's Day too.

8. I changed the channel whenever Russert was on
but that said, I'm sorry to see him gone.

I didn't care for his interview style, because he was too "in your face" for me -- all about questions but not listening to the answers. I'm more of a Moyers person.

But I have many friends who absolutely adored Tim, and I share in their grief for his early passing.

Peace, Tim.

11. Forgive my reply as it is the antithesis of who you've portrayed
Tim Russert. IMO he was a paid corporate mouthpiece. I would never wish death on anyone, don't get me wrong, but...Tim Russert?

12. Russert was authentic, in an age where we're told that "reality" is manufactured
by those in power.

When he testified about Scooter Libby's conversation with him, Russert recounted his version of reality, and Libby was convicted.

I didn't always agree with him, and sometimes got pretty angry at what I saw as missed opportunities in his interviews, but I'll miss his analysis and the camaraderie he shared with his MSNBC cohorts.

Best wishes to his family and colleagues.

16. and once again a cool dip into the Bleever Pond makes me feel good

Many times I was upset with Tim for not asking the questions I wanted
but I was never really mad at him and his kind spirit shown through
on more than one occasion.

thoughtless they make me sick.

20. Politics is all about humans.
Calling some people less than human is a bad kind of politics.
