White House Staffers Held Abramoff 'In High Regard' & Rove Was in on Discussions of Removing State Department Official

On Monday, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform released its report titled JACK ABRAMOFF’S CONTACTS WITH WHITE HOUSE OFFICIALS. Interesting reading; http://oversight.house.gov/documents/20080609101725.pdf

... The degree to which several high White House officials were tied to Abramoff's hip may be surprising ... our country is currently run by the largest most blatant band of scalawags to grace the presidential mansion since...well, maybe since there's been a presidential mansion.

.. there are six pictures of Abramoff in the company of Bush.... Bush's immediate denial that he "knew" Abramoff is only mildly outrageous to me, given the immediate tendency of just about all politicians to run away from potentially damaging news and associations. The statements that ran as a 50-point headline in my mind were .... :

1. I cannot believe that this post wasn't k&r'd ! . . If we have learned

nothing over the past 7+ years, we have learned that this administration operates like a crime syndicate, for that is what it is. The political operatives were put in charge specifically to facilitate massive theft from our public coffers (and the public coffers of any vulnerable foreign interest) by international thieves in the guise of legitimate business operations.

It has been hard to see because of the scope. The size of the ocean cannot be ascertained from a seat on the jetty.

The muscle is our own purloined military and the criminals are protected by our own law enforcement structure under the direction of the crime family's consigliere, Mukasey.

Abramhoff is jailed for the tiniest exposed tip of the iceberg. Rove is still working hard to keep the money flowing and the American People at bay.

I sincerely hope that the new Obama administration, with a Democratic House & Senate can engage in some serious disinfection. There will have to be some confessions from people on our side of the aisle as well and I welcome this. It will be difficult but it is really our only hope.

Self-serving too, no doubt. The only way McCain could viably run in 2008 was NOT against an incumbent Dem!!
