My daughter's friend is a senior but wasn't planning to go to the senior dinner dance because she didn't have a date. So my daughter, who is straight, took her friend, who is also straight, to the dinner dance and they both had a great time. My daughter kidded about wearing a suit or tux, but in the end opted for a great looking gown from the thrift shop.

Give your daughter my praise and a paper star for insight and wisdom, and you a parent-of-the whatever-time-period one for getting it. And double kudos for skipping the tux. They are our future, and they show it is not necessarily a bad one.
