Meanwhile in London - the protesters are marching
http://www.stopwar.org.uk/
<snip>
Demonstrate today Sunday 15 June against War criminal George Bush's UK state visit. The police have now accepted that our demonstration can assemble in Parliament Square at 5.00pm. Leading figures joining our demonstration include Bianca Jagger, Brian Eno, former UN representative Denis Halliday, musician Nigel Kennedy, actor Roger Lloyd Pack, playwright David Edgar, artist David Gentleman, Labour NEC member Walter Wolfgang and many more.

The ban against us marching from Parliament Square to Downing Street, where Bush will be dining with Gordon Brown, continues. We intend to defy this ban. In the words of the Liberal Democrat shadow home secretary, Chris Huhne, calling on the government to lift the ban, "Stop the War Coalition have organised dozens of peaceful marches past Downing Street. This country has a long tradition of peaceful protest and I would be shocked if our civil liberties were curtailed at the request of a foreign government."

1. Is this Gordon Brown's first chat with Dubya in person?
My guess is Brown will be in a hurry to finish the encounter and will be privately appalled that someone like George W. Bush could ever be elected to any public office.

3. Ah. So he knows what he's in for.
I would love to hear Brown's private remarks to his staff regarding this visit.

He's been solidly against the war for many years now, all since 2003 :-)
Thanks for posting, Malaise. Please post more pics if you can find any.

18. I would be so pissed if I was in Iraq or Afghanistan right now and I seen
these pics of the war monger laughing it up and carrying on like the madman he truly is.
I spent enough time under the influence around others who were likewise to be able to spot a drunk for blocks away and this sob is a drunk. Only difference between he and me back then is he has lots and lots of blood on his hands. I sure wouldn't want to be him is one thing I know for sure
What a disgrace to america he is.

I wouldn't. It wouldn't surprise me if the curtailing of civil liberties, American style, weren't a requirement for a presidential visit.

13. Huh. The MSM is reporting basically no protests
Says people realize he'll be out of there in a few months. Reporting on the previous protests they didn't report on in real time. Well, what did I expect....?
