BBC video shows Obama filling sandbags while Bush dines with Queen
"Obama digs in at flood zone" is the header of BBC's "Americas Frontpage" while Bush has tea with the queen.
I think Olbermann would love to see this video, maybe show it on his show.
The Daily Show might like it too?
What a difference between this video and Bush's response to Katrina!

a little controversial but hey, wtf do the Republicans care.

McCain Texas Fundraiser Back On, Sans Oilman
Updated 4:37 p.m.
By Juliet Eilperin
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz) has decided to hold a fundraiser initially sponsored by a controversial Texas oilman later in the summer at a different venue, according to an aide who asked not to be identified.

McCain had planned to hold a joint fundraiser with the Republican National Committee on Monday at the Midland, Tex., home of Clayton Williams, who ran for governor of his state in 1990. But after reporters from The Washington Post and ABC inquired Friday about a remark Williams made comparing rape to bad weather -- "As long as it's inevitable, you might as well lie back and enjoy it" -- the campaign cancelled the fundraiser. Williams has apologized for the remarks.

30. I was drifting off to sleep and heard it on TV.
It was either CNN or MSNBC... probably CNN since MSNBC was still on the Russert marathon. They didn't compare it to Bush's current activities, but they did specifically mention Obama filling sandbags.

well, they have water on the way they say. Field offices are going to be set up, they say. Yet, nobody has seen them yet. Maybe they are better off without FEMA but keep those receipts and ID just in case they do decide to show.

35. Bush has governed over a string of Katrinas
The lack of attention paid to the warnings of a terrorist act in 2001, the intention to allow hedge funds to remain unregulated which contributed to the housing bubble and financial crisis, the willingness to the let the U.S. dollar disintegrate and its role in the gas crisis. I'm still nervously looking over my shoulder for the next crisis, as I'm sure Bush just can't stand leaving office without one more major fuck-up on his record.

37. just needed Obama to say to the crowd of onlookers at the end there
"what are you all doing standing around?" and to then point to the shovels and the bags. then that would have been an absolutely perfect op! as it was, it should shame McCain and the republicans into angry gibberish for the rest of the week.

40. We already know what the angry gibberish will consist of...
...of course he's helping out, Muslims are supposed to do charity work!

He's enslaving a white man to hold the sandbag for him!

You can tell it's a Hollywood soundstage, look in the background the light is all wrong, etc.

He's only doing it to make everyone else look bad!

That's all he did was two shovelfuls and then he was back sitting in the shade drinking a 40.

Why didn't he do that during Katrina?

And on and on...
