Sen. Kennedy Preparing To 'Do Battle,' Son Says
SMITHFIELD, R.I. (AP) -- Congressman Patrick Kennedy says his father is preparing to "do battle" against his brain cancer.

Senator Ted Kennedy is spending Father's Day weekend surrounded by family at his home in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts, according to the Rhode Island Democrat. The younger Kennedy tells The Associated Press that his visitors are aware the senator needs moments of quiet and breaks from entertaining as he fights the cancerous tumor.

Ted Kennedy is preparing for radiation and chemotherapy treatments, though his son won't say when those will start. But he says his father is considering a pill form of chemotherapy that would allow him to stay home for treatment.

Patrick Kennedy says he expects the presidential season will give his father a break from politics, as Washington shifts its attention to the campaign. He says his father wants to be ready to push health care issues in January, when he hopes to see Barack Obama move into the White House.

6. This is going to be the fight of his life...
...and it's not a fight that can be won.
All he's going to be able to do is buy some time.

My dad had the same type of cancer. With surgery, chemo, and radiation, he mananged to buy an extra year...and the last few months...well, let's just say TANSTAFL.

Bloody hell....:banghead:
