Tiger Woods: The legend grows. (And Rocco is just great.)
Anybody who wonders why I am a sports fan need look no further than this year's U.S. Open.

This was unbelievable drama.

Guess I have to sneak many peeks at work tomorrow at the playoff, but this is way bigger than Rocco Mediate will handle.

Tiger is likely to win. Bad knee and all. He is incredible. I do love sports.

Happy Father's Day, all.

1. That was pretty exciting.
And I am not even a golf fan.

I'm hoping Rocco pulls it off, but as you said, Tiger likely wins it.

3. Poor Rocco. (And golf isn't a sport.)

6. Oh yes it is. Hitting a curveball. Kicking a field goal. Knocking it 3 feet from the pin.
Under pressure.

Golf is as tough as it gets, and it's not a team sport.

Tiger bench presses 350 pounds, but it's not raw strength. It's hand-eye coordination at its finest.

Golf is indeed a sport. One that I will never master, but will always play.

13. Please define "sport" for the unenlightened among us.

I have personally played 36 holes in 90 degree heat under tournament conditions, and I pretty fucking well thought I was engaged in a sport. Please, straighten me out.

14. Sufficient condition for activity not being a sport: athleticism is not necessary for the activity..

15. I'll give you credit for spelling all the words correctly, but that doesn't make any sense at all.

9. I like Rocco's belt buckle.
(A large peace symbol). I've never seen that on the golf tour before. Go Rocco.

10. YES. I noted that, too. A peace sign! A big one!

I will root for him tomorrow.

He has no chance. But what a great tourney, either way.

And from here on out, I am a member of the Rocco Mediate fan club. What a warm, genuine person he is, and that belt buckle was a shot at Bush.

God bless him.

12. Tiger is a great story with his bad knee and amazing play, but
I have to root for the guy who could be my neighbor and sports a peace symbol as a small way of speaking truth to power. I didn't see him as a walking sandwich board for corporate USA either. Some of these guys are shameless in their corporate-whore logo wear.

Rocco!

16. And his contribution to those in need is.......what, exactly?
He's a multimillionaire living in a gated Florida Community.
