I would be lying, and doing the women here a disservice if I didn't say that a big difference between here and a place like KOS is the community, for better or worse.

And I think that of that community, the best of the better parts for me are the wonderfully imaginative, thoughtful, and committed women at DU. For me, you all are the embodiment of the goddess of democracy moving through the world. My day would not be right without their thoughts and commentary.

Whether or not there is a woman presidential candidate, women a force majeur of the Democratic Party -- I recognize that fact, and respect it.

While this may sound odd, my choice of supporting Barack was completely based on factors that were not gender-based, but based on who I thought was best able to face the upcoming long emergency in a flexible manner. Not so paradoxically, I believe that is a desired result of the women's movement from the beginning.
