"There has been only one African American Supreme Court Justice"
and then "whoops, I forgot," said Whoppi Goldberg while introducing Laurence Fishburne, playing the title role at the play "Thurgood" at the Tony ceremony.

I doubt that there will ever be a play called "Clarence."

1. There has been only one African American Supreme Court Justice
who deserved to have the job.

2. Clarence Thomas is a hankerchief head. He would die of starvation in the status

quo life boat before he would stand up and rock it.

Malcolm X would have made a better more honest SC
justice than that bench warmer Thomas.

3. Ideologically, Clarence is whiter than I am. But he's got a eumelanin imbalance so he looks black.

5. It appears that his skin is the only item that he could not abandon and switch
the way he did with a wife (white) and religious affiliation (Episcopalian).

7. Well said, Whoopi. Thurgood Marshall was an incredible & historic asset to the Court....
Clarence Thomas, sadly, was found under a rock someplace. He stands on the shoulders of giants and never sees them at all. I wouldn't care about his being a self-absorbed, sexually-harassing pissant except for his appointment to the SCOTUS.

I always believed Professor Anita Hill.

9. Strange Justice, HBO movie, I think, based on the Jane Mayer book.
Edited on Mon Jun-16-08 02:00 AM by Gabi Hayes
which gave David Brock his intial fame, by very dishonestly 'refuting' much of the details in the book, especially that which dealt with Anita "a little bit nutty, and a little but slutty" Hill

Delroy Lindo played him

IIRC, it followed the book fairly closely, and sort of tried to make CT sympathetic at the same time, but failed, I thought. I think it was told throught the viewpoint of Ken Duberstein (Bush's point man for the nomination, and Thomas perjury coach), and that aspect didn't work too well for me either

highly recommend the book, though, which detailed the amazing strength of the RW Noise Machine (before it was called that) and, once again the INCREDIBLE supinity, cravenness, laziness, etc., of the mainstream media. and don't forget the fricking spineless dems, coralled by Joe Biden
