8. Won't be many weddings today
Two counties — Alameda (East Bay) and Sonoma (north of SF) — are keeping their clerk's offices open until 8 p.m. After 5 p.m., when the California Supreme Court decision goes into effect, couples can get marriage licenses in those counties, but I'm pretty sure they aren't performing ceremonies until tomorrow.

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom will officiate at the marriage tonight of long-time gay rights activists Del Martin and Phyllis Lyon, who've been together since 1955.

9. Per our local Sonoma County paper,
17 couples are scheduled to be married today.

If you read the article, my partner and I are the one couple scheduled for Saturday so far.
