Iowans must be wondering if they will get the "New Orleans Treatment" when waters subside...
... with no more concern shown by Bush and his Cabal so far, they must be wondering...

It is a tragedy of monumental proportions for those who had to be evacuated and now watching their homes wash away.

I'm sorry.... there is nothing that can be done for Tim Russert now, but the news organizations could do a lot to bring this tragedy to the American people --who might in turn help their fellow citizens in Iowa.

1. They already feel that way
Local city and state help only... no FEMA, nothing.

The only difference between this and the handling of Katrina is that the heartland was warned. There are a lot of square miles of neighborhoods under water.

2. Will they become 'invisible' once the waters recede? like Katrina?
I wonder if their land will be condemned and given to big business interests?

4. There's another difference: this flood hurt our food supply.
By not ensuring our levees could survive better than a 500-year-flood, by not maintaining what we did have, food is going to become a luxury in America.

Our man needs to tell the heartland what we will be doing to survive the 1,000 and 10,000 year floods that are coming. And make it clear that we have to spend the money so we can EAT.

It used to be that floods were beneficial to the land. Now, they bring ugly pollutants to our topsoil. It isn't just this year's crop that is damaged. How do we put our land back into good heart?

6. All weekend long on cable news it was all about Tim but
hardly anything at all about the flooding and nothing about Kansas. Are they still on the map or get blown away. Hell, the water is still there but Bush is drinking beer in Europe.
