Response from NC Congressman Bob Etheridge re: Impeachment

(I understand this is pretty much an "impeachment form letter", but I'm hopeful it means his office has tallied another voter as being 'for impeachment')


Thank you for contacting me to urge the impeachment of
President George W. Bush. It was good to hear from you, and I
appreciate your taking the time to get in touch with me


I share your concerns about the accuracy of pre-war
intelligence regarding Iraq and the veracity of U.S. government
officials in the representation of that intelligence. I support a
thorough investigation of these and other issues related to the
conduct of the war in Iraq. Although I do not serve on committees
of jurisdiction regarding these issues, you can be sure that I will
continue to work in Congress to hold the Bush Administration
accountable for its statements and its actions.

I am working with our national leaders to support policies
that will defend our values, protect our children and our families,
put our people back to work and get our economy back on track. I
look forward to your continued input on these and other issues as I
do so.

if you want anything to go further. It's a little trick of the trade in getting things through the gauntlet between the people and their representatives. It looks however, that it got through to him and he responded which is good. You didn't get the form letter.

This is what I received from my MI rep.

Thank you for contacting my office. I appreciate hearing from you and learning your position on impeachment issues.

However, I do not support the impeachment of either President Bush or Vice President Dick Cheney. I believe it is another example of partisan politics aimed at dividing the country along sectarian lines.

The administration has entered its final year in office. In less than seven months, there will be an election in which the American people will voice their wishes. Then, as always, my focus will be on moving forward in a spirit of bipartisanship and cooperation in the interests of the United States.

There is still work to be done. Because of the legislation currently requiring my focus, I believe it is of paramount importance to work for the citizens of Michigan in pursuing their interests.

4. What Congresswoman Miller and the other Representatives would

do well to remember, is that they are there representing US. They are supposed to be serving us.

Not just in this instance, but in all areas. Once they're there, they don't really pay any attention to what we want.
