Vincent Bugliosi's book on Prosecuting Bush for Murder (He's serious folks)
This thread is intended as a companion for Babylonsister's
"LAW SCHOOL TO ORGANIZE BUSH WAR CRIMES TRIAL"
Here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=3463758&mesg_id=3463758

Here is a clip of Bugliosi from his web site-
Powerful stuff coming from some one like Bugliosi!!!!
http://www.prosecutionofbush.com/video.php

From his bio, for the younger DUers who may not be familiar with him-
"Vincent Bugliosi received his law degree in 1964. In his career at the L.A. County District Attorney’s office, he successfully prosecuted 105 out of 106 felony jury trials, including 21 murder convictions without a single loss. His most famous trial, the Charles Manson case, became the basis of his classic, Helter Skelter, the biggest selling truecrime book in publishing history. Two of Bugliosi’s other books—And the Sea Will Tell and Outrage—also reached #1 on the New York Times hardcover bestseller list. No other American true-crime writer has ever had more than one book that achieved this ranking. His latest book, Reclaiming History: The Assassination of President John F. Kennedy, has been heralded as “epic” and “a book for the ages.”

He is a formidable enemy, to be sure.
I wouldn't want to piss him off!!!

2. He was on Democracy Now a few days ago- saw a side of him that I wouldn't relish unleashing!
Apparently, he had been told before appearing that his segment
would be 40-45 minutes in duration.
When Amy G put him on, there was only about 20 minutes left in the show-
He was clearly pissed about it and said so.

I would hate to have him against me in a
court of law!

He has a real "Killer who always gets his prey"
vibe about him.

10. Now I LIKE that suggestion~!
Then he could go after the corrupt congress
members on both sides of the aisle.

WE are in need of a SERIOUS house cleaning
in Washington.

I'd trust Bugliosi to do that job for us!

8. Do be sure to watch his video on his site too!
I thought the DN segment was great, but as he said
at the start, not NEARLY long enough for him
to cover all the ground he was prepared to.

He is speaking here in LA in a few days.
I'm going to hear him in person and
hopefully get a copy of his book autographed
for my Dad and brother.

Jeremy Scahill autographed his book for them,
as did Scott Ritter when he spoke here.
Perfect holiday gifts for my family.

11. He didn't get as much time as he was told he would... he was not happy about it!
I wonder if they edited that out on the archive version...
Think I'll go take a peek and see.

6. I picked it up at Costco this weekend... Everyone should do so!

Ir's rare that Costco gets the more "controversial" progressive books on their shelves. They've kept books like "The Shock Doctrine", etc. off the shelves there, but have put on Ann Coulter's book or "Liberal Fascism". For a store with customers that tend to be progressive like myself, we need to get them to get more books like these on the shelves.

7. He mentioned having trouble getting it published on the DN segment- imagine that.
A best selling author who can't get his book published.
Wonder if anyone will give it a review?

Personally, I am so happy to see a mad dog like
Bugliosi on the attack!

Maybe Bill Moyers will have him on!

Hope so!

It would be wonderful to have an honorable man in that position that understands what the CONSTITUTION and rule of Law is all about.

Unfortunately, the "inside the beltway" host geography might reject him as a foreign antibody or something!

14. They would probably "Wellstone" him with a week.
The BFEE has a long trail of bodies behind them.
He might end up there if he is not careful.

And consider that Dubya can pardon others, but presumably not himself.

16. Wonder if the next pResident will pardon him though... that's my fear.
I'm glad VB got this book published either way,
I think it will be an important documentation for
future generations when they ask us,
"How did that happen?"

It will also reveal the complicity of the criminals
in Congress who have and will do nothing
despite the growing pile of evidence against
this pResident and his associates.

23. I'm concerned about the "end games" after november election...

If Bushco sees the writing on the wall after election results, Bush could issue a RASH of pardons of just about everyone but himself, then resign, and then Cheney would pardon Bush as his first move when "president", before someone like Obama can take over.

Now from some people's perspectives it could be even worse, where possibly an "emergency event" is engineered then (Iran invasion on some false pretext, terrorist report, or some significant assassination) that would trigger Bush declaring Martial Law and suspending the election results, but that probably would be more apt to happen before the election so he could "cancel" the election in advance rather than try to nullify it afterward.

My guess is that if it looks like Congress tries to overturn those pardons, that is when Halliburton becomes the new place where Cheney and Bush, etc. wind up in Dubai.

I just called his office to find out more about his

If any other LA DUers plan on attending,

He's certainly a notable prosecuting choosing to ONLY prosecute serious crimes (rather than engage in petty 'persecution' for personal politics).

I look forward to reading the case he lays out.

No matter how I try to accept the "politics" as it is, as unfair as it is,...I simply can't let go of how politics has been used as an excuse to avoid confronting the greatest breach of law by our government in my lifetime. We may as well be characterized a 'dictatorship',...even if a SEEMINGLY more friendly one.

I hope Bugliosi included the possibility of prosecuting all those surrounding this 43rd pResident.

24. I picture him crouched, waiting like a tiger to spring this book, at this moment.
You KNOW that he has been working on it for a long time-
just waiting for the moment to strike and make the kill.

I'd say his timing is impeccable.
The American public, even the ones who don't really understand
how they arrived at this dismal point in their lives are
MAD as hell and more than eager to have some one to blame
for the condition their lives are in.

Prices at the pumps and markets, working more hours
for less benefit, unable to make ends meet, losing their
homes and unable to afford healthcare or send their
kids to college have left the masses seething.

This is a public that will pay attention now...

Go Bugliosi!

21. Just Carrying It Around With You Is Helpful
Or leave it visible in your car.

Read it on the beach. Or anywhere in public.

Wave it around at campaign events.

Especially in the faces of Impeachophobes.

Wow... how did he manage to become more than one person? Cloning with full brain scan duplication? Splitting his own molecules Superman-style? (Sorry, couldn't resist)
