Bush poo-poos idea of attending international conference to tackle rising oil prices
This story was buried in yesterday's article in the Guardian concerning Iraq. U.K. Prime Minster Brown tried to enlist Bush's assistance in organizating a series of international conferences to try to get to the bottom of the world's rising oil prices. Bush stated he would not attend such conferences and would once again be AWOL. I'm surprised that this isn't all over the news.

"...The President also reacted coolly to Brown's suggestion of a series of international conferences - beginning with a Saudi-hosted meeting of producer and consumer nations on Sunday - to tackle rising world oil prices.

Bush called it an 'interesting idea', but warned against expectations of any major short-term improvement and made it clear he had no plans to go. 'I'm going to go home and take a look at what it all means and I'll decide who's going to attend on our behalf,' Bush said. ..."

4. It figures. An issue that is CRIPPLING this nation's economy and
people's budgets right now isn't important to idiot son.

Of course, he's no doubt going to be rewarded very well for the high prices. I hope he spends the majority of the rest of his life in prison for his crimes in office.

5. It would be far more newsworthy if he WERE going to attend
As that would be totally unexpected.
