How about Aaron Brown as a replacement for Russert
I don't usually post in General and it seems pretty rough in here but I always liked Brown's style. I think it's safe to say that we're not going to get Keith or someone in there.

1. I don't know that there will be a replacement for Russert...
Edited on Tue Jun-17-08 11:19 AM by SteppingRazor
that is, someone who fills both the moderator role on Meet the Press AND Washington Bureau Chief at NBC News. I think it's pretty likely that two people will get those jobs. I don't know about Meet the Press moderator, but bureau chief will probably go to either David Gregory or Andrea Mitchell.

8. I could imagine David Gregory in the MTP slot.
He's got that lean and hungry look about him.

I'd love to see Aaron Brown there, but he has his sarcastic side (I remember him from the all-night ABC World News Now), and I don't think that would fly with the PTB.

2. How about Charlie Rose? He'd bring some gravitas that
others wouldn't.

3. I like him but...
he just signed for a weekly series with PBS, after waiting out the balance of his contract with CNN.

6. Won't happen. I liked him (you won't be able to tell from this), but

1- He was weak enough to be knocked off by a lightweight like Anderson COOPER.

2- He seems to be somewhat lazy. At least once, for sure, and I'm thinking a couple of other times, he refused to leave the golf course for a breaking story. G.E.RUSSERT was -----HUNGRY-----"ambitious" and wanted it badly and wasn't too proud to kiss Jack WELCH's and other corporate ass.
