Impeachment Supporters - What's your explanation for how Republicans voted on this issue? |
|
Republicans voted overwhelmingly to bring it to the floor and Democrats, including Kucinich, voted to send it to the Judiciary committee. What's that tell you? Bryant Check it out --> http://politicalcomment.blogspot.com

1. They're daring the Dems to do it |
|
because the Repukes know they won't. So the repukes, oddly, lose nothing by seeming to be in support of it.
Gawd, it's crazy-making.

6. I saw a political cartoon |
|
It had Bush on a tricycle facing a Democratic Party 18 wheeler. The (DEM) truck was swerving off the road. The caption read, "A Game of Chicken"

The GOP knows that no crimes have been committed, and want Kucinich to try to make his case to the American people.
By sending it to the next level, it can die a quiet death.

5. Holy Shit! No Crimes Committed? |
|
Who the heck said this? Are you saying that is what they believe because not only have crimes been committed but treason is one of those crimes.

7. No crimes that the dem leadership ain't complicit in |
|
This must be it-
The dems are saying nothing criminal happened. They are not saying that crimes were committed, but that chImpeachment is not an option because it is not politically viable.
I think that crimes have been committed, and that the dems won't prosecute these crimes. Just like BigDog and Iran Contra. There was a crime committed, and no one was held accountable.

17. Well I am of the mind that if a crime is committed.... |
|
it does not matter who is responsible, they must be punished. I am not for this partisan bullshit. If Dems were involved they should be punished. If Republicans were involved, they should be punished. If both were involved the exact same rules apply there as well.

8. Maybe if you say it enough times, it'll be true |
|
I doubt it, but maybe.
After Articles of Impeachment are passed by the House, they are referred to the Senate for trial. Without preliminary investigations by the House Judiciary committee, there would be NO EVIDENCE on which to base a verdict. The Senate would find the lot of them NOT GUILTY.
You want impeachment, so do I. Unfortunately, it will not happen. Congress has waited too long. There simply is not enough time between now and November (or January, for that matter) to begin the necessary investigations and conduct an impeachment trial.

12. There is always time for justice my friend |
|
But in this instance justice is being trumped by politics.
The dems would rather accept crimes then fight for justice.

16. What we want is of no consequence since... |
|
what I was addressing was someone lying when they say there were no crimes committed. There were many, many crimes committed and all the white washing in the world will not change that. A crime by any other name would still be as illegal.

10. It tells me two things: |
|
1. The Committee could choose to hold hearings or to further investigate Kucinich's 35 Articles. THis process wouldc assemble overwhelmingly damning facts and bring them to light. The repukes don't want this; they want as little truth and as much political theater as possible.
2. There is not yet a sure pro-impeachment majority in the House.
In short, the repukes want to nip this in the bud.

They are aware that the Democratic party leadership and the Blue dog democrats are in their corner. Either going to the floor where "suddenly", the democrats will vote closure on debate or going to committee to "die" concerns them not at all but this time, they want to be sure there is no debate coverage. But the issue isn't if Kucinich and the republicans are on the same team because they are not, but that the Democratic leadership and the Republicans are on the same team in regards to the issue. Any attempt to make out like Kucunich or the articles have no merit is a sad joke.
