Hey, I'm a great grandfather

Well I'm probably really just an OK grandfather but my granddaughter had a baby girl last night at about 8 pm. Our first.

I can remember the day in 1985 when the new mother herself was born. I was a lot more optimistic about the state of the world then than I am now.

I hope that by the time this kid grows to womanhood this country has regained some of the greatness it once displayed.

It's scary, isn't it?

I don't have any grandkids yet, but my kids are grown. I can remember feeling low many times when they were babies and small children. That was during the eighties. I could not imagine how we could allow them to inherit a world governed by the likes of Reagan and Bush.

My kids grew up politically aware and active. I hope now that all the younger people can help us heal and clean up the senseless messes.

Enjoy this baby. You don't have all the day to day responsibilities, so you can watch her grow, love her, and spoil her.
