A very tiny, slight, modest, bit of a half a kudo to the media (re: McCain)
In all honesty, we all know what McCain meant when he spoke about staying in Iraq for 100 years.

I don't think we ought to be there one more day, and I suspect many of you agree with that. But if we're being honest, we know that McCain meant his '100 years' in the same vein as the way in which we are in Japan and Germany and Korea. Not in a hot war, but in an oversight sort of role. Again, I am not saying this is right and indeed, see this as beside the point of this post. I just had to put this in cuz .... well ....... this is DU and tangents take on lives of their won.

Aaaaaanyway .....

The media has allowed the 'in Iraq for a hundred years' to be used freely in talking head sessions. It is rare, indeed, when one of the media hosts will call a guest on it.

We hate it when they let shit like this happen against our side. In this case, they seem to be equal opportunity bullshit supporters.
