accepting people and pets. In Cedar Rapids, rescued pets have been taken to Kirkwood Community College campus which has several ag- and pet-related programs, so had stalls, cages, etc. The news last evening said 6,000 pets have been rescued and are waiting to be reunited with families. Tonight the news said the volume of animal rescues in our area is comparable in scale to efforts in New Orleans after Katrina.
