Tinm Russert Was No More Than A Media Hack Espousing Propaganda
Edited on Tue Jun-17-08 09:23 PM by T.Ruth2power
What's the big deal?

What's with all the homage?

The guy furthered an agenda that has slaughtered many thousands.

He deserves exactly no respect. In fact much worse.

2. And he's dead now, so maybe a little more respectful rhetoric would be the way to go?
At least the classy way. I'm not saying that you have to re-write history or buy into the ovations, but be mindful of the fact that the person you are throwing all that invective toward is now DEAD. Maybe silence is the best option until the media attention fades.

5. No
Too often the very real impacts that one has caused are all of sudden forgotten and whitewashed away simply because this person dies. What's worse is the very real suffering that he has in part caused is ongoing.

Add to this that the historical revisionists are at this moment trying to be "classy" in their wrongful portrayal of this cretin and thusly disguising the history at large so it is incumbent upon us to discuss this quite frankly and with the mercy deserved which in this case is very little if any.

Tim Russert deserves zero respect. He was despicable. The US media who have pumped the war propaganda into our ears every day are as guilty as the German propagandists.

Let's just tell the truth.

6. How, exactly, is this helping your cause?
You are clearly either preaching to the choir, which does nothing. Or you are alienating those of us who are simply and understandably uncomfortable with speaking so ill of the dead. I am learning nothing from this conversation and it doesn't seem like anyone else is either, which leads me to think that your post (and the multitude of similar posts by others) is nothing more than the equivalent of a virtual temper tantrum.

11. The cause
is just straight talk.

That's all you need to learn.

The mouthpieces who lie and further the agenda of empire deserve the wrath of all clear thinking people.

There is no tantrum here. Take it as you wish. Russert does not deserve to rest so peacefully.

8. Why should I show any respect for someone who lied about the war.
That is like telling me I should respect Bush.

I do not see any diffence betweeen Tim or Bush.

Tim and people like him deserve no respect, they have sold out their country for money.

9. You don't say.
Seriously, bring something new to the dialog--as opposed to a skeletal regurgitation of sooooo many recent posts--or don't bother.

Please and thanks.

13. Geeeeezzz... Could you have let the guy get buried first?
I cringed sometimes when listening to what I considered were silly questions or answers on his shows BUT I think he worked hard at trying to open some things up and I admire him for it. He was a good break in the status quo for MSN political shows and I will miss him.
