Here’s what Senators Feingold and Dodd had to say about Senator Bond’s proposal, which is very similar to what we expect in the coming days:

… under the Bond proposal, the result of the FISA Court’s evaluation would be predetermined... the FISA court would be required to grant immunity.2

Tell your members of Congress to reject a sham immunity "compromise."

I can't understand why we should have be so worried about our DEMOCRATIC representatives even seriously considering caving to that laughingstock who PRETENDS that he's still the President or that we should actually care about what HE wants!!! WHO(M) is clamoring for this legislation so badly that some Democrats feel compelled to oblige???? I'm pretty sure that whomever it is it is most certainly not the public and probably not even most Democrats. I had hoped, apparently in vain, that our representatives in the House had put the "kibbosh" on this nonsense earlier and would keep it pinned down for the rest of the year.

Well, I guess some of them really DO have the time to royally screw us with this since only a few of them are concerned about pushing for impeachment and interested in genuinely holding Bush et. al accountable for their crimes against the constitution and humanity in general..........................................................

Richard Nixon said, "when the president does it that means that it is not illegal."

Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD) wants Congress to pass a FISA bill which says that as long as Bush officials told phone companies that giving away our private information without a warrant was legal, that practically makes it so.

We were founded on the principle that "we are nation of laws, not of men."

Steny Hoyer wants to replace that democratic system with a monarchic system: As long as Bush claims something is legal, the courts will have to pretend that it's legal, if Steny Hoyer gets his way.
