Hope has two children:

Anger at the way things are,

and Courage to make them better.

As some of you may know, I am one of the editors on the Truthiness Encyclopedia, Wikiality.com. I try to take notes on every episode of The Colbert Report, from The Wørd segments to guest interviews.

One of Dr. Colbert's guests, Chris Hedges, said that quote above. I ran across it when I was going through old episodes and thought I'd share it with the DU community.

I included some links to some of Mr. Hedges' writing for a little perspective.

Have been using it as my signature line since Dean was running for the Democratic nomination for President and everyone was accusing him of being so angry. Should be credited to St.Augustine

I always give credit to whoever Stephen Colbert says to give credit to.

And since the guy was on The Colbert Report, and St. Augustine wasn't, you can see my dilemma.
