If you're in or around LA.....
From Planned Parenthood:

It's Baaack!
Spread the Word about Parental Notification III!

Venice Beach Eco-Fest
Sat., June 28, 10am – 2pm
and
Volunteer Recruitment Phone Bank
Wed., June 25, 6 - 9pm
RSVP to grassroots@pp-la.org

Look out for a parental notification initiative on the ballot this November—for the THIRD time. We voted "NO" on nearly identical ballot measures in 2005 and 2006 because it was clear that the health and safety of teens was at stake. We're confident that California will reject this dangerous initiative again, but we need your help to win!
Join us to spread the word about this dangerous initiative at the Venice Beach Eco-Fest on Saturday, June 28th, from 10am – 2pm.
Meet us at 10 a.m. at Planned Parenthood's Westside Office, 1316 3rd Street Promenade, Suite B-5, Santa Monica, CA 90401, for breakfast and training. We'll head over to Venice Beach together to ask people to vote NO this November.
We'll have plenty of snacks, training and materials—we just need you!
Can't make it next Saturday? Recruit others to attend at a volunteer recruitment phone bank in East L.A. on Wednesday, June 25th from 6 - 9pm!
We'll meet at our Central Office, 1920 Marengo Street, at 6pm for dinner and training. Then we'll get you on the phone to ask other Planned Parenthood supporters to attend the Venice Beach event.

1. Again?
Can't the fundies find their way to the voting booths without this kinda crap to entice them? You'd think they suck at being American, or something.

Seriously though, talk me out of my current knee-jerk stance that there should be like a five year waiting period before they can put up an initiative after the defeat of a similar one. There must be a good reason. i'm just to pist to figure it out right now.

5. They figure if they keep putting it on, it will eventually pass
That's why we need to remain hyper-vigilant.
