Savage Wiener: ‘I’d hang every lawyer who went down to Guantanamo
from ThinkProgress:

Savage: ‘I’d hang every lawyer who went down to Guantanamo.’»

On the Wednesday edition of his radio show, far right talker Michael Savage declared his support for the execution for any lawyer who represents accused terrorism suspects. “I’d execute any lawyer who would do this to this country in a time like this,” said Savage. Later, while talking with a caller, he specifically said he would “hang every lawyer who went down to Guantanamo“:

SAVAGE: Yeah, that’s why they had a pipe bomb and their lawyer said they were firecrackers. I tell you, I’d hang the lawyer. If I ran this country, I’d hang the lawyer. I would try her for aiding and abetting terrorism — I’d hang her and I’d hang every lawyer who went down to Guantánamo to defend those murderers.

Many of the lawyers defending detainees at Guantanamo Bay are actually members of the military. Media Matters, who has the audio, points out that in March, Savage advocated putting “left-wing lawyers” in Abu Ghraib.

2. What is it with these meatballs making threats over the air all of a sudden?
First Glenn Beckkk threatens Michael Moore. Then the "very independent" Michael Reagan threatens Mark Dice. And now this.

There oughta be a law... oh wait a minute... :eyes:

3. Michael Savage is seriously mentally ill.
I listen to his show while driving....it's either him or Sean Hannity, and Savage is really messed up. High cognitive function, very poorly socialized, narcissistic, just plain crazy.

5. Straight-up--Michael Savage hates America.
It's clear he has no respect for our legal system or the principals upon which our nation was founded. Insted, to generate "heat" on his radio program, he actually disparages the very ideals of human rights and due process our forefathers fought to obtain. Take a look at our virtual mission statement in the Declaration of Independence: "inalienable rights" "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness"--that's not about citizenship, because our Founders were flinging their British citizenship in King George III's face. Take a look at our Bill of Rights--the Federalists were gonna balk at it at first, but then realized the necessity of a guarantee. We exist as a nation of laws, not men, because men knew the value of laws, and the governments, first and foremost, had to abide by them, or else, that government was invalid and full of shit.

Well, his glib response is all very well for a totalitarian Bolshevik, but as a red-blooded American, I detest that pinko bullshit. How in the hell are we supposed to tolerate our own little Cuban Siberia? Why are we supposed to stomach kangaroo courts just because the Party (The GOP) decided it was good enough? Our Constitution is as good as written in the blood of patriots, and if that isn't good enough for Mr. "Savage", he can stare down through the ages at the eyes of soldiers who have fought and bled for our freedoms, and would not be half so proud of their effort if they knew of how cowardly, chickenshit, arm-flapping candy-asses like him were willing to sacrifice those privileges, not just for themselves, but as intended as natural rights of all men, just to be a little bit safer from the big, bad terrorists.

In thorough ignorance of what this country stands for, he denigrates our Constitution, our civil liberties, and the military--but it *is* military lawyers and generals who first lookd as this corrupt, ineffective system, and said, "This should not be." If you look at the names of people who have spoken out, you find Lawrence Wilkerson, and Maj Gen Taguba, and Gen. Mora and lots of JAGS--these are patriots. These are even some conservatives, and these are people with military backgrounds who understand what's going on.

Who the hell is Savage? I think he's a confused, attention-seeking punk-ass who doesn't know anything, but is mad about something. His air-time commercials ain't paying him enough. There's his problem. That people like me who love the Constitution and love this country enough to despise what is happening to it, are perfectly willing to give him a shoe-leather enema, is another.
