I am prone to rip dem ass on a regular basis when they let me down, and they did today (well, not all of them).
But I have too much on the line to let some set backs now erase my hope of a better future. We have a weak leadership to be sure, but I believe, for the first time in a long time, that we have some hope.
Be pissed, kick ass, take names, and work for change - that is what WE have been doing for a long time now. And slowly, but surely, it is going to happen. We got the congress back, soon we will have the white house. Today may make us feel depressed over things, but this is but one thing in a sea of issues we must fight - and for the first time in a damned long time we are on the verge of winning.
I'll be right here with you to hold their feet to the fire, but I would damned sure rather have our people in power over theirs. And those who say they are on our side and vote against us best take notice, people are fed up and want massive change to a broken system.
Change may not be going on where we most need it, but it is going on where we most want it - on the local level. People are finally waking up to the fascism we are sliding in to.
The great hope we have left is not so much in our leaders that we elect, but in the people who are starting to see how bad things really are.
There is a better tomorrow, and it won't be up to our elected officials to make it happen. It will be up to us freeing ourselves from the chains they have forged for us.
They have woken up a sleeping giant, and eventually we will have what it is we seek. And I don't care what letter they have after their name, they are not going to be paid by us if they won't do the job we put them there to do.
I DO have hope, because I have seen so many now on the nets seeing the truth of things and wanting real change.
We will win, but we won't if we concede defeat because some in our own party have went against us. They have the power to make laws, we have the power to toss them out. They used their power, and we will use ours.
It is time to stand, and not be beaten down because we have lost our sense of hope.
They won today - but they won't win in the end, because I still believe in the people of this country.
They want us to give up, throw our hands up in the air, and move on.
I won't give them the pleasure.
